Cambodia Red Cross Distributes Aid to Vulnerable Groups in Preah Vihear Province
The Cambodian Red Cross, Preah Vihear Provincial Branch, distributed aid including rice, canned fish, instant noodles, fish sauce, and 100,000 Riel cash to 27 vulnerable families and elderly individuals in three districts. This initiative, guided by Provincial Red Cross Committee Chairman Mang Sineath, aims to provide timely assistance to those in need.
The Cambodian Red Cross, Preah Vihear Provincial Branch, on Friday, September 18, 2026, distributed aid to 27 vulnerable families and elderly individuals without support in three districts of the province. The aid was distributed to 9 families in Stung Hav district, 8 families in Prey Nob district, and 10 families in Kampong Som city. Mr. Pen Chantharith, an official from the Preah Vihear Provincial Red Cross Branch, stated that under the guidance of HE Mang Sineath, Chairman of the Preah Vihear Provincial Red Cross Committee, all branches, sub-branches, and volunteers in districts and cities were instructed to increase their attention to citizens in their areas, especially vulnerable individuals and the elderly without support, and women with many children. The aim is to help alleviate their living conditions promptly and prevent any citizen from suffering from food shortages. During the occasion, Mr. Chantharith also advised the vulnerable citizens and elderly individuals to take care of their health, practice clean eating and drinking, and ensure everyone sleeps in a mosquito net. He emphasized that the rainy season is prone to diseases such as dengue fever and chikungunya, urging them to maintain hygiene around their homes and eliminate stagnant water from coconut shells, tires, and motorcycle rims. He also recommended raising fish or using larvicides in water containers. The aid provided by the Provincial Red Cross Branch to the 27 vulnerable families and elderly individuals included 25 kilograms of rice, one carton of canned fish, one case of instant noodles, one carton of fish sauce, and 100,000 Riel in cash per family.
