Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is set to visit East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province for a three-day tour. The itinerary includes community engagements and attendance at the Indonesian Solidarity Party's (PSI) NTT regional meeting, with locals expressing a strong 'longing for reunion' with the former leader.
Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to undertake a three-day visit to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province. The agenda is packed with community engagements and his attendance at the Indonesian Solidarity Party's (PSI) NTT Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda). Preparations for Jokowi's arrival are being spearheaded by a coalition of volunteers and cadres of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in NTT. Several volunteer groups, coordinated under Rumah Juang 2 (RJ2), are actively preparing to welcome the former president. Utje Gustaaf Patty, a representative from the Kuncen House of Juang Jokowi Volunteer, confirmed that various volunteer elements, including BRN NTT, PasGibran NTT, DPW Team Garuda 08 NTT, BARA NUSA NTT, Gajah Solid Nusantara (GSN), Solmet NTT, and Alap-alap NTT, are united in their readiness to welcome Jokowi. According to Utje, public enthusiasm for Jokowi's visit remains high, as the former head of state is perceived to have a strong emotional connection with the residents of NTT. He noted that many community representatives have inquired about when Mr. Jokowi would visit NTT, expressing a profound longing, akin to reuniting with a long-unseen family member. Meanwhile, Christian Widodo, Chairman of the PSI NTT Regional Executive Board (DPW), stated that Jokowi's visit is in response to the community's desire to meet the former president again. He elaborated that the people of NTT miss the moments when Jokowi visited them during his 10-year tenure as President of Indonesia, hence the significant public enthusiasm for his upcoming safari to NTT. In addition to meeting the public, Jokowi is also slated to attend the PSI NTT Report. Christian expressed hope that Jokowi's presence would serve as a momentum to strengthen the internal consolidation of the party in the region, thereby enhancing the solidity of PSI NTT cadres and increasing their influence both locally and nationally.
