PM Hun Manet Celebrates PSE's 30th Anniversary: Humanitarian Aid Transforms Destinies of Tens of Thousands of Youth

Phnom Penh, July 2, 2026 -- Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia stated that the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Organization for the Smile of Children (PSE) is a testament to the transformation of the destinies of tens of thousands of Cambodian children and youth, guiding them from hardship towards a strong future and genuine careers. Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed profound admiration and gratitude for the humanitarian spirit of the late Christian des Pallières and for Mrs. Marie-France des Pallières, who initiated this mission out of love and compassion for Cambodia's impoverished children. He lauded PSE's vision, which focuses not only on immediate aid but also on building long-term capacities, educational opportunities, and vocational training. The Prime Minister requested all relevant ministries to continue supporting the mission of PSE. He also took the opportunity to thank all national and international partner organizations and benefactors, especially those who have provided financial support over the years, for the benefit of our children and grandchildren, particularly those who lack opportunities. Founded in Cambodia in 1996, PSE has assisted children and youth from impoverished and uneducated families in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville through six major operational programs: 1. Food Program, 2. Health Program, 3. Protection and Accommodation Program, 4. General Education Program, 5. Vocational Training and Higher Education Program, and 6. Family Support Program. These programs have contributed to the government's policies, with over 15,000 impoverished and vulnerable children and youth receiving general education, vocational training, and other forms of support over the past 30 years.
