Hanoi Urban Railway Carries Over 14 Million Passengers in Two Years, Boosting Urban Development Hopes

The Nhon-Hanoi Station urban railway line (Line 3.1) in Hanoi has achieved significant results, transporting approximately 14.2 million passengers in the two years since its commercial operation began. According to data released by Hanoi Metro Company, the line has been widely used by passengers from August 8, 2024, to August 8, 2026. This line is positioned as a crucial step towards forming a modern urban railway network within the broader context of Hanoi's urban restructuring. It also contributes to the promotion of 'green transportation' as a sustainable mode of transport, forming part of the initiative to reduce reliance on private vehicles in urban areas. Hanoi is also undertaking the construction of five other metro lines and three rental housing projects, aiming for a fundamental improvement of the city's overall transportation infrastructure and living environment. Notably, the dismantling and relocation of large construction equipment like tunnel boring machines are symbolic events highlighting project progress. Hanoi Metro Company is also contributing to the implementation of Resolution 57 on national digital transformation, advancing the digitalization of operational management and passenger services.
