Svay Rieng Authorities Inspect Hotel, Discover Foreign Nationals with Short Gun and Other Evidence

Authorities in Svay Rieng province, Cambodia, conducted an administrative inspection at the Nobel Bavet Hotel in Bavet city, leading to the discovery of several Vietnamese nationals and the seizure of various items, including a firearm. The operation, carried out under Sub-decree No. 03 of the Royal Government of Cambodia dated September 9, 2026, was led by Men Eng, Deputy Governor of Svay Rieng, representing Governor Peng Posa. The procedural coordination was handled by Chan Vannak, Deputy Prosecutor of the Svay Rieng Provincial Court. During the inspection, authorities found a total of eight foreign nationals staying at the hotel, including two women. All were identified as Vietnamese citizens. Four of them possessed valid passports. In Room 2220, officers discovered a K59 pistol, one magazine with three bullets, four laptops, eleven mobile phones, two passports, and a white Alphard vehicle with Phnom Penh license plate 2BU-8959. Room 3305 housed two Vietnamese nationals, one woman, who had valid passports. Following the inspection, six Vietnamese nationals (one woman) along with the seized firearm, vehicle, and electronic equipment were transferred to the specialized office of the Svay Rieng Provincial Police Commissioner for further legal proceedings.
