New Road and Irrigation Canal Connect Development Area to Wat Tuol Preah Theat, Offering Potential Benefits to Community

A new road and irrigation canal connecting a development area to Wat Tuol Preah Theat have been completed in Stueng district, Kampong Cham province, Cambodia, promising significant benefits to the local community. Mr. Pang Vey, head of the working group for the local area of Stueng district, highlighted the substantial advantages this infrastructure development brings to residents. The new road significantly reduces travel time and hardship, facilitating easier access for pilgrims and locals to Wat Tuol Preah Theat. Furthermore, it is expected to streamline the transportation of agricultural products and goods between the development zone and surrounding communities, thereby boosting local land values and business opportunities. Concurrently, the excavation and renovation of a new irrigation canal directly addresses water scarcity issues. This canal is designed to provide farmers with stable irrigation throughout both the rainy and rainy seasons, supporting consistent crop yields and alleviating concerns about water shortages. It also aids in flood mitigation during the rainy season, reducing the risk of inundation in Stueng district center and farmlands, while also serving to store water for use in the dry season. Mr. Pang Vey expressed profound gratitude to the local authorities, relevant teams, and all residents who collaborated to bring this project to fruition. He urged the entire community to unite in maintaining and protecting the road and canal, and to cooperate in clearing debris to prevent water flow obstruction and ensure the water source remains clean. He emphasized that this new infrastructure is not only a source of pride for Stueng district but also a testament to the working group's dedication to improving the quality of life for the people. The abbot, monks, committee, and all followers of Wat Tuol Preah Theat extended their deepest thanks to H.E. Thao Cheththa, Minister and head of the party's working group for Stueng district, and Mr. Pang Vey, for their consideration and efforts in developing the local area with the new road and irrigation canal. It is noted that the project involves the construction of a 1,300-meter road within the development area leading to Wat Tuol Preah Theat, a generous donation from H.E. Minister Thao Cheththa.
