Cambodia Launches Digital Awards 2026 to Foster Innovation and Global Competitiveness
Cambodia has launched the application process for the "Cambodia Digital Awards 2026," aiming to promote domestic digital innovation and foster connections to international markets. The awards recognize outstanding digital innovations, businesses, and institutions driving digital transformation, with a total prize pool of $30,000.
PHNOM PENH, July 25, 2026 -- Mr. Sam Sithiserey, Director General of the General Department of Telecommunications and Information Technology (GDTC) of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), attended a press conference on July 24, 2026, to officially open applications for the "Cambodia Digital Awards 2026." The event, held under the theme "Elevating Cambodian Innovation to a Global Level," was attended by numerous media organizations at the MPTC headquarters. The Cambodia Digital Awards 2026 is a national-level digital award program that recognizes outstanding digital innovation achievements and contributions within Cambodia. Over the past 12 years, the Cambodia Digital Awards have become a leading platform, bringing together digital startups, digital innovators, creative companies, and institutions that utilize digital technology. The program aims to drive innovation, strengthen Cambodia's digital innovation capabilities and digital economy, develop the national digital ecosystem, and connect Cambodian digital startups to regional and international markets. The Cambodia Digital Awards 2026 continues its mission to accelerate Cambodia's digital transformation by promoting outstanding innovators, companies, and institutions that contribute to social security, digital economic growth, and national economic development. Digital innovators from all sectors are encouraged to participate and contribute to building society and digitalizing the nation. The Cambodia Digital Awards 2026 has been established with four key objectives: 1. Recognition: To provide national recognition for outstanding products or services that drive digital transformation in Cambodia. 2. Empowerment: To support businesses and institutions in integrating modern technologies and innovation for sustainable growth within Cambodia. 3. Connection: To strengthen regional and international cooperation between innovators and investors to promote the digital ecosystem and enhance global reach. 4. Opportunity: To serve as a digital platform for outstanding innovators to showcase their works and achievements, attracting investment and representing Cambodia on the international stage. The Cambodia Digital Awards program is more than just a competition; it is also a component in promoting investment. Notably, in 2025, a runner-up in the Digital Startup category attracted investment from Plug and Play. This success highlights the high standards of the competition and the opportunities available for digital startups and innovators to enter the international arena. Applications for the Cambodia Digital Awards 2026 are open to technology companies, digital startups, and research institutions. A total prize pool of $30,000 USD will be distributed across five award categories: 1. Outstanding Digital Startup of the Year; 2. Outstanding Digital Research and Innovation of the Year; 3. Outstanding Digital Content of the Year; 4. Outstanding Private Sector Organization of the Year; and 5. Outstanding Digital Inclusive Product of the Year.
