Cambodia Launches Digital Awards 2026 with $30,000 Prize Pool to Foster Innovation

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has announced the Cambodia Digital Awards 2026, under the theme 'Elevating Cambodian Innovation to Global Standards,' and has opened applications for participants. The competition boasts a total prize pool of $30,000. Registration for the awards will be open from July 24, 2026, to November 2, 2026. This program aims to recognize outstanding digital innovations and achievements at a national level. Over the past 12 years, the Cambodia Digital Awards has served as a leading platform for digital startups, innovators, and creative companies and institutions. It seeks to foster innovation through the adoption of digital technologies, strengthen the digital economy, develop Cambodia's digital ecosystem, and connect Cambodian digital businesses to regional and international markets. According to Mr. Sam Sithiserey, Director General of the General Department of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the awards are designed with four key objectives: 1. Recognition: To provide national acknowledgment for outstanding products or services that drive digital transformation in Cambodia. 2. Empowerment: To support businesses and institutions in integrating modern technologies and innovations for sustainable growth within Cambodia. 3. Connection: To enhance regional and international cooperation between innovators and investors, thereby strengthening the digital ecosystem and its global reach. 4. Opportunity: To serve as a digital platform for outstanding innovators to showcase their work, attract investment, and represent Cambodia on the international stage. Notably, in 2025, a runner-up in the digital startup category attracted investment from Plug and Play. This success highlights the high standards of the competition and the opportunities available for digital businesses and innovators to enter the international arena. The Cambodia Digital Awards 2026 is open to technology companies, digital startups, and research institutions. The $30,000 prize money will be distributed across five categories: the Annual Outstanding Digital Startup Award, the Annual Outstanding Digital Research and Innovation Award, the Annual Outstanding Digital Content Award, the Annual Outstanding Private Sector Organization Award, and the Annual Outstanding Digital Inclusive Product Award.
