Hanoi Schools Close, Shift Online Due to Record Rainfall

Hanoi, Vietnam – Heavy rainfall overnight and into the early morning of September 17th has led to widespread school closures and a shift to online learning for many primary and secondary schools across the capital. Students arriving late will not be penalized. Around 5 AM, Tay Mo Primary School announced a closure due to "flooded routes to school." Phenikaa School and Marie Curie School system implemented similar closures for all grade levels. Meanwhile, Doan Thi Diem Primary School, Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School, Luong The Vinh School (Tan Trieu campus), and Khoa hoc Giao duc (HES) High School transitioned to online classes. Newton Primary and Secondary School offered two options: families in flooded areas with difficult commutes could keep their children home, with the school considering online classes based on student numbers.
