Vietnam Honors Fallen Heroes, Pledges Continued Development

Nationwide ceremonies were held across Vietnam in July to honor fallen heroes and express gratitude to those who have contributed to national construction and protection. These events underscore the consistent attention and care the Vietnamese Party and State have shown towards individuals who sacrificed for the revolution and their families, thereby disseminating the nation's traditional values and noble morals. This demonstrates the profound gratitude and highest responsibility of the entire political system, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of policy beneficiaries and fostering great spiritual motivation for national construction and defense. Specifically, in Dien Bien Province on July 25, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung offered flowers and incense in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen heroes, marking the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27). In Dak Lak Province, a nationwide campaign is underway to collect DNA samples from relatives of fallen soldiers, aiming to identify hundreds of thousands of unidentified soldiers who perished in past wars and alleviate the decades-long anguish of their families. This reflects a strong national resolve to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland. Economically, while heavy rains in Lao Cai Province caused severe landslides, severing key transport routes and damaging homes, authorities are urgently mobilizing resources for recovery and to help residents stabilize their lives. In terms of economic development, Lam Dong Province has introduced Vietnam's first aluminum ingot product, marking a significant milestone in the development of the country's aluminum industry and enhancing economic self-reliance. Furthermore, the National Digital Transformation Strategy for 2026–2030, with a vision to 2045, has been approved, setting ambitious targets to accelerate economic growth through data and AI and build a prosperous, secure, and human-centered digital nation. Ho Chi Minh City is gradually transforming specialized high-tech agricultural zones from previously fragmented, low-yield farming areas. In diplomacy, Vietnam jointly organized a photo exhibition in Hanoi with Thailand to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Additionally, the ASEAN–UK Post-Ministerial Conference was held, signaling efforts to strengthen international cooperation. These developments illustrate Vietnam's commitment to honoring past sacrifices while simultaneously pursuing multifaceted initiatives for future economic growth and enhancing its international standing. The nation's state-led development strategy under a one-party system appears to be balancing cooperation with the international community.
