RLC Renames Bridgetowne Avenue to John Gokongwei Jr. Boulevard

MANILA, Philippines — Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) has officially renamed Bridgetowne Avenue as John Gokongwei Jr. Boulevard as a permanent tribute to the Gokongwei Group’s founder and to commemorate his 100th birth anniversary. John Gokongwei Jr. Boulevard stretches approximately one kilometer through Bridgetowne Destination Estate, one of RLC’s most significant mixed-use developments, spanning portions of Quezon City and Pasig. “Our family is deeply humbled. This boulevard is more than a tribute bearing his name, it is a reminder of the journey he inspired, the path he moved and values that continue to guide us today,” RLC chairman Lance Gokongwei said. “In many ways, it reflects his own journey from humble beginnings to a life dedicated to building businesses, creating meaningful breakthroughs and helping improve the lives of all Filipinos,” he said. By naming the road in his honor, RLC celebrates a century of the late taipan’s vision while recognizing the hard work, resilience, discipline, prudence and long-term thinking that shaped his life and the businesses he built. With the renaming, RLC said Gokongwei’s name becomes part of a place shaped by the same belief that guided his life’s work: growth is most meaningful when it improves lives and strengthens communities. “By naming the boulevard after Mr. John, we honor the timeless principles that he lived by: his discipline, his prudence and his bold, unstoppable vision. These are the very values that built our foundation and continue to guide everything that we do today,” RLC president and CEO Mybelle Aragon-GoBio said. Bridgetowne brings the mixed-use concept first pursued by RLC at Robinsons Galleria to a grander scale. The estate combines workplaces, homes, retail, hospitality, leisure facilities and public spaces within one destination. Running through its center, John Gokongwei Jr. Boulevard plays an essential role in making that vision work. Along the road is a 200-meter bridge that provides a direct route between the Quezon City and Pasig City sides of Bridgetowne. Bridgetowne can be reached through C-5 Road, Ortigas Avenue and Amang Rodriguez Avenue. Together, these routes improve mobility for residents, employees, businesses and visitors while strengthening the estate’s links to surrounding communities. RLC said the boulevard’s practical purpose makes it especially meaningful as a tribute to Gokongwei. “Throughout his life, he built businesses around the needs of Filipinos and broadened access to products, travel, education and employment. At Bridgetowne, that same people-first philosophy is reflected in a road designed to make daily movement easier and support the communities it connects,” RLC said.
