It is known that 156 individuals involved in committing online scam and gambling offenses in Kengtung Township were arrested along with business equipment. Around 7 AM on August 7th, joint security forces conducted investigation and inspection operations within their respective territories to prevent individuals engaged in online scam and gambling from residing or operating, and to prevent online scam and gambling activities. As a result, based on an informant's tip that illegal online scam operations were being conducted in a compound with a constructed building near the Naung Le Fish Pond restaurant in Naung Le village, Kengtung Township, Shan State (Eastern), it was learned that they went to search and inspect. During the search and inspection, it was learned that 140 Chinese male nationals, 4 Chinese female nationals, 1 Laotian female national, 8 Myanmar male nationals, and 3 Myanmar female nationals, totaling 148 males and 8 females, a combined 156 individuals, were arrested along with 658 various mobile phones, 134 All-in-One computers, 28 laptops, 3 WIFI ROUTERs, 13 STAR LINK GAN-3s, 15 CPUs, 5 UPSs, one 120 KV generator, one 155 KV generator, one refrigerator, and one freezer. It is known that those arrested who were engaged in these online scam and gambling activities will be dealt with severely and effectively in accordance with existing laws after the necessary investigations are completed, and the seized business equipment will be processed according to procedures. It is known that the state is continuing to carry out anti-online scam and gambling initiatives in cooperation with neighboring countries, regional countries, and international organizations to eradicate online scam and gambling offenses and prevent them from being established within Myanmar.
