French media highlight momentum in Vietnam–France strategic partnership

French media have highlighted the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France, noting its advancement towards a new phase focused on deepening economic cooperation. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms and explore deeper sectoral cooperation to meet development needs in the new context. The partnership links the solid legacy of traditional friendship with a modern foreign policy vision that directly serves Vietnam’s future development needs. Stakeholders point out that the phase of building the framework has passed, and now is the time for implementation and results – for the two sides to take breakthrough actions and elevate economic cooperation to new heights. Vietnam is striving to strengthen its international relations while pursuing economic growth under its one-party system. Recently, Egypt decided to grant visas on arrival to Vietnamese citizens, reflecting its commitment to promoting tourism exchanges and people-to-people ties. Efforts are also underway within the ASEAN region to narrow healthcare gaps and enhance regional economic development and international competitiveness. Vietnam's foreign policy maintains a stable stance amidst global changes, with the strengthening of ties with Russia being part of this strategy. The state visit by General Secretary and President To Lam to Russia is considered a significant event in the history of bilateral relations. This marked the first visit to Russia by a Vietnamese leader concurrently holding the positions of General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and President since 1991, reaffirming the enduring trust and friendship between the two countries and highlighting their cooperation to create new breakthroughs in bilateral cooperation.
