Cambodia Accelerates Digital Economy Ecosystem Development with Launch of 3rd Startup Accelerator Program
The Cambodian Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications announced the launch of the 3rd "Innovate Cambodia Accelerator Program" on September 8th, aimed at fostering digital economy and innovation. In previous iterations, 21 startups secured opportunities for regional expansion and investment. The ministry emphasizes the importance of strengthening the digital ecosystem for regional competitiveness.
The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC) of Cambodia is taking firm steps in building a new digital and innovative business ecosystem to support the development of the digital economy and society, and to enhance its competitiveness with regional countries. The MPTC has contributed to creating a favorable environment for digital startups through policy development, strengthening entrepreneurial capacity, connecting with international partners, and creating opportunities to attract investment. As a next step, the MPTC, in collaboration with Plug and Play and AUPP Technology Center (ATC), will organize the "Innovate Cambodia Accelerator Program - Batch 3" which will commence on September 8, 2026. This program aims to support potential digital startups in developing products, expanding businesses, preparing for investment, and entering regional and global markets. As a result of the first and second seasons of the accelerator and development program for digital startups, 21 out of approximately 150 digital startups have received knowledge and guidance from mentors and training from international experts. Furthermore, the program arranged for 18 digital startups to participate in programs in Singapore and 7 digital startups to participate in programs in the United States. These participants had the opportunity to showcase their products and services, and to seek opportunities to connect with major companies and investors through the global network of Plug and Play. Specifically, in 2026, Plug and Play announced investments in two Cambodian digital startups: Bamnang and KonektAgri. These achievements demonstrate the tangible progress of Cambodia's digital startup ecosystem and the increasing recognition from the international community. Applications for the third season of the "Innovate Cambodia Accelerator Program" will be accepted from the date of this announcement until August 21, 2026.
