Cambodia's Ministry of Justice Refers Provincial Court Official's Procedural Violations to Disciplinary Council

The Ministry of Justice of Cambodia has decided to refer a case concerning alleged procedural violations by a judicial official at the Stung Treng Provincial Court to the Disciplinary Council of the Supreme Council of Magistracy for investigation. This was announced on September 10 by Mr. Em Chhanny Makara, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice. According to the spokesperson, this decision was made in response to a complaint filed by Mr. Sla Hurt and Mr. Noh Solath, who accused judicial officials at the Stung Treng Provincial Court of procedural misconduct. The Ministry of Justice spokesperson further stated that the Minister of Justice has officially forwarded the case to the Disciplinary Council of the Supreme Council of Magistracy. The council will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and, if any violations are found, will take action in accordance with the law and procedures under the disciplinary framework of the Supreme Council of Magistracy. In parallel, the Ministry of Justice has dispatched a working group to conduct further investigations into the case. The findings of this investigation will also be submitted to the Disciplinary Council of the Supreme Council of Magistracy to serve as additional grounds for their review. Source: AKP Khmer
