Cambodia: Battambang and Pailin Provinces Agree on Border Adjustment

The administrative boundary between Cambodia's Battambang and Pailin provinces will be adjusted following an agreement between the authorities of both provinces. On September 9, 2026, Battambang Provincial Governor Sok Lu and Pailin Provincial Governor Ban Sreymom signed an agreement requesting the adjustment of the administrative boundary between the two provinces at the conference hall of the Battambang Provincial Hall. The adjustment is being made in response to the notification from the Ministry of Interior regarding the demarcation of administrative boundaries of capitals-provinces, districts-towns, and communes-sangkats. This notification aims to ensure clear and efficient administrative management in border areas that lack precise demarcation, in line with actual conditions. After conducting on-site studies and inspections, the administrations of both provinces reached an agreement on the boundary adjustment based on legal principles.
