The signing ceremony took place on September 9, 2026, at the Battambang Provincial Hall, presided over by HE Sok Lu, Governor of Battambang Province, and HE Ban Sreymom, Governor of Pailin Province. Following field studies and on-site inspections, the administrations of both provinces held discussions and reached a consensus based on legal principles to prepare a request for the adjustment of the administrative boundary between Battambang and Pailin provinces. This initiative stems from a notification by the Ministry of Interior regarding the demarcation of administrative boundaries of capital cities, provinces, districts, and communes that lacked clarity. The adjustment aims to ensure that administrative management in the border areas is clear, efficient, and in line with the actual situation.
