Stung Treng Police Bust Drug Trafficking, Arrest 17 Suspects

In northeastern Cambodia's Stung Treng province, a large-scale operation targeting drug trafficking and use took place over two days, from July 31 to August 1, 2026. Specialized forces from the Provincial Police Headquarters conducted investigations and raids at five different locations, resulting in the arrest of a total of 17 suspects, including three women. Seized evidence includes five packages of crystalline white transparent drugs (one large and four small), 145 pills of drugs (in a dissolved state), two drug-weighing scales, one car, 12 motorcycles, and 17 mobile phones. The specialized forces are currently actively continuing their investigation to identify other accomplices and masterminds, with the intention of bringing them to justice according to the law without exception. Following this successful operation, senior officials from the Stung Treng Provincial Police Headquarters sent an important message, emphasizing that drugs not only destroy individuals' futures, families, and the nation's society but also lead to severe penalties under the law on drug control. This successful operation demonstrates the considerable efforts and high sense of responsibility of the provincial police force, which has been working tirelessly day and night to protect the safety, security, and public order for the local population. The local authorities are also appealing to all citizens to cooperate by providing information and reporting any suspicious activities related to drugs, in order to jointly build a community that is "drug-free" and completely safe.
