Cambodia has strongly urged domestic and international business people and investors to explore new investment opportunities in the country and to consider it as a base for expanding production and businesses to regional and global markets, during the China-ASEAN Business Summit held on September 1, 2026. In his keynote speech at the summit, H.E. Chea Vutthi, Secretary General of the Investment Committee of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), noted that despite global uncertainties, geopolitical shifts, and the restructuring of global supply chains, opportunities for cooperation still exist. He emphasized that the summit should serve as a platform to "transform dialogue into cooperation and cooperation into tangible investment opportunities." He also highlighted the strong relationship between ASEAN and China, the growth in trade and investment between them, and the increase in Chinese investment in Cambodia in recent years. Cambodia particularly seeks to enhance connectivity between foreign investors and local enterprises. The aim is for investments to not only create factories and jobs but also to foster knowledge and technology transfer, human resource development, and greater value creation within the country. This will help Cambodia integrate more deeply into regional supply chains. To ensure the growth of long-term investments, H.E. Chea Vutthi informed the audience that the Cambodian government is continuously implementing measures to address issues directly affecting business costs and ease of doing business. These include human resource training, reducing trade and investment costs through the improvement of essential physical infrastructure, strengthening the CDC's One-Stop Service mechanism for easier, faster, and more efficient investor services, and utilizing digital technology for investment project registration, combating online crimes, and other related measures. The Investment Committee stands ready to welcome, facilitate, and support investors not only at the investment decision stage but throughout the entire investment cycle in Cambodia. Cambodia reiterates its call to business people and investors to continue exploring new investment opportunities and consider the Kingdom as a base for expanding production and businesses to regional and global markets.
