Top BIFF Leader Killed in Maguindanao del Norte Shootout
Esmael Abubakar, a top leader of a faction of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) with a P3 million bounty, was killed in a shootout with soldiers and police in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte. He was wanted for multiple murder, frustrated murder, and arson, and allegedly involved in drug trafficking.
