Cambodian PM Meets New Iranian Ambassador, Confirms Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing satisfaction with the good bilateral relations and confidence in enhanced future cooperation. The ambassador affirmed his commitment to promoting bilateral ties.
AKP Phnom Penh, September 10, 2026 -- Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning a courtesy call by H.E. Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi, newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Cambodia. During the meeting, H.E. Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi highly appreciated the good relations between Cambodia and Iran and reaffirmed his commitment to further promoting bilateral cooperation. The newly appointed ambassador also expressed his interest in exploring new opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various areas. For his part, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet warmly welcomed H.E. Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi on his appointment as Ambassador of Iran to Cambodia. The Prime Minister noted the good relations between the two countries and expressed his confidence that, during his diplomatic tenure, H.E. Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi would contribute to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation. At the same time, Samdech Thipadei welcomed the ambassador’s commitment to seeking new opportunities to further promote bilateral cooperation and encouraged him to continue discussions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.
