President Prabowo Inaugurates New LRT Section, Boosting Jakarta's Transport Network
President Prabowo inaugurated a new section of the Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) connecting Kelapa Gading and Manggarai on September 16. This extension is expected to enhance public transportation convenience and alleviate traffic congestion in Jakarta.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the inauguration ceremony for the new Kelapa Gading-Manggarai section of the Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) on Wednesday (16/9). The President, along with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and several ministers from the "Red and White Cabinet," boarded the LRT to inspect the new section. The LRT extension from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai spans 12.2 kilometers and will feature 11 stations. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Manggarai LRT Station. This LRT extension is expected to strengthen Jakarta's public transportation network and significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the capital. In recent years, with a growing population, infrastructure development has become a pressing issue in Jakarta. The expansion of public transportation like the LRT is part of the government's efforts to diversify and streamline residents' mobility options.
