Over 1 Billion Kyats Worth of Drugs Seized in Taungoo

In Taungoo city, drugs worth over 1.4369 billion kyats were seized, according to the Myanmar Police Force. During the incident, at 4 AM on August 30, a joint team consisting of the Anti-Narcotics Police Force and unit members, acting on information, conducted searches and inspections near Ward 22 in Taungoo city. They arrested two individuals: Pan Aung (aka Aung Pe), a 39-year-old resident of Sifoo village in Phekhon Township, and Mano Thethe Soe, a 20-year-old resident of Leito village in Santangoo Township. They were apprehended with 6.34 kilograms of heroin worth 2.219 billion kyats and 810,000 methamphetamine tablets worth 1.215 billion kyats. Furthermore, it is reported that a Toyota Alphard vehicle and an IPSUM vehicle were also seized along with the suspects at the time of their arrest. The Myanmar Police Force stated that the two arrested individuals are being prosecuted under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
