Vietnamese, Indian Scholars Discuss Future of Enhanced Strategic Partnership

Vietnamese and Indian scholars have engaged in discussions regarding the future directions for enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations. This exchange is anticipated to be a significant step toward further strengthening bilateral cooperation. During the discussions, emphasis was placed on reinforcing collaboration in areas such as economy, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. India has eased import regulations for fresh durian from Vietnam, creating new export opportunities. This indicates the potential for a more dynamic development in the trade relationship between the two countries. Furthermore, both nations reaffirmed the importance of cooperation on regional and international issues. Notably, common ground was found on the peaceful settlement of disputes based on international law and the maintenance of freedom of navigation and aviation. This reflects the proactive stance of both countries in preserving stability and peace in the Indo-Pacific region. NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed the Vietnamese legislature's commitment to working closely with India's legislature to facilitate the implementation of agreements reached by the leaders of both countries. Vietnam also highlighted its valued special relationship with Laos, noting that the recent elevation of bilateral ties has opened a new chapter. These developments underscore Vietnam's approach to enhancing its diplomatic presence within ASEAN while simultaneously pursuing multifaceted strategic partnerships with external countries like India.
