Vietnam attaches importance to its relations with France, considering it one of its leading partners in Europe and on the international stage. The country wishes to continue close coordination with France to deepen the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a substantive and effective manner. Vietnamese leaders have expressed the view that strengthening relations with France will lead to further development based on mutual trust. Efforts are underway to inject new impetus into the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by promoting cooperation across a wide range of fields, including politics, economics, culture, education, and science and technology. Given France's significant role within the European Union (EU), Vietnam also seeks to deepen coordination with France in enhancing relations with the EU. Both nations plan to maintain close cooperation on issues of common interest in multilateral forums. Furthermore, the French Communist Party has been called upon to continue contributing to the development of Vietnam-France ties, indicating Vietnam's approach within its one-party system to foster and maintain broad friendly relations. Economically, France is one of Vietnam's leading European investors and a crucial trade partner. Vietnam welcomes French investment, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, and the digital economy, aligning with Vietnam's economic growth strategies and sustainable development goals. Vietnam and France established a Strategic Partnership in 2003, which was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2013. Since then, bilateral relations have steadily progressed, and the current efforts signify a commitment to further solidify this strong relationship.
