Cambodia Deports 329 Chinese Nationals Involved in Online Scams

A total of 329 Chinese nationals, including 10 women, have been deported from the Kingdom of Cambodia. The deportations were facilitated through special flights departing from Techo International Airport. On September 6-7, 2026, acting upon the high recommendations of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sar Sokha, and other leaders of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Sok Vasna, Director General of the General Department of Immigration, instructed the Department of Investigation and Procedure Implementation to deport the 329 Chinese nationals from Cambodia via special flights at the police checkpoint of Techo International Airport. The deportations were carried out after authorities discovered that these individuals were involved in illegal drug use, unauthorized residence and work, lack of passports, and online scams within the Kingdom of Cambodia. This operation to deport illegal foreign nationals is in strict accordance with the orders and legal measures of Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Prime Minister has previously clearly stated his position: "Cambodia will not allow criminals or illegal individuals to use Cambodian territory as a base for scams or to commit offenses that cause insecurity to the region and the world. Authorities must continue to clear out, suppress, and deport without exception, in order to protect national honor and security." Based on this spirit and under the direct leadership and guidance of Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, law enforcement forces are making strenuous efforts to eliminate technology-based crimes, investigate and suppress masterminds, and rescue victims of fraud, allowing them to regain their freedom and return to their home countries safely.
