Petrovietnam and Ha Tinh Province Orient towards Expanding Cooperation in Energy and Industry Sectors

Petrovietnam, Vietnam's state-owned oil and gas group, held a meeting with the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on July 28 to agree on cooperation directions for key projects. These include the development of an ecological energy and industrial center in the Vung Ang Economic Zone and research into investing in data centers integrated with LNG infrastructure. This agreement aligns with Vietnam's national strategy to strengthen energy security and develop key industries driving economic growth. Petrovietnam plays a crucial role in stabilizing the energy supply, which underpins the Vietnamese economy, having already achieved revenues exceeding 734 trillion VND (approximately 3 trillion JPY) this year. Furthermore, the company is focusing on activating the supply chain for biofuel E10 and optimizing crude oil production and petroleum product manufacturing, demonstrating its commitment to meeting domestic energy demand while adapting to global energy transition trends. The Ha Tinh Province, particularly the Vung Ang Economic Zone, has been developing as a significant industrial hub attracting domestic and foreign investment in recent years. This enhanced cooperation with Petrovietnam is expected to further accelerate the concentration and upgrading of energy-related industries in the region. This can be seen as an example of Vietnam's efforts to deepen inter-regional cooperation within its socialist-oriented market economy.
