South Korea Donates $1.68 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Cambodian Senate

The Cambodian Senate has received humanitarian aid worth a total of $1,688,514.99 USD from South Korea's Global Life Sharing (GLS) foundation. This aid package includes 45 types of medicines, insecticides, and daily necessities, marking the 24th such donation from GLS to the Cambodian Senate. The primary objective of this humanitarian assistance is to enhance the quality of life for Cambodian citizens and establish a stable and improved living environment. It is specifically aimed at supporting refugees, impoverished families, and vulnerable communities across the country. This collaboration between the 10th Commission of the Senate and the GLS foundation began with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2022, initially pledging $10 million USD in aid. Following positive evaluations of the project's effectiveness, transparency, and accountability, a second MOU was signed in 2025 to expand the total humanitarian aid to $50 million USD. Further extending this commitment, a third MOU was signed in June 2026, increasing the total humanitarian aid to $65 million USD. Through this effective cooperation, the GLS foundation has provided a cumulative total of $36,108,065.84 USD in humanitarian aid to the Cambodian Senate across 24 instances. This aid, comprising medicines, medical equipment, clothing, and daily use items, has been managed and distributed by the Senate leadership. The distribution has been transparent, accountable, and targeted towards provincial capitals, hospitals, health centers, vulnerable populations, and particularly refugees along the Cambodian-Thai border, thereby contributing to the improved well-being of the Cambodian people, in line with the noble aspirations of the Senate and the GLS foundation.
