Cambodia's Ministry of Culture to Host 'Khmer Sbai' Workshop to Enhance Cultural Heritage Preservation

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia announced that it will organize a workshop titled 'Khmer Sbai and Its Traditional Uses in Customs, Traditions, and Weddings' on October 6, 2026. The event aims to deepen public understanding and promote the preservation of Khmer cultural heritage. The workshop will be held at 1:00 PM in the Angkor Wat Hall at the Ministry's headquarters in Phnom Penh. Its primary focus is to disseminate knowledge about the correct usage of Khmer Sbai according to Cambodian traditions and customs, and its role in Khmer weddings, which is an integral part of the national cultural identity. The Ministry stated that this initiative contributes to enhancing the understanding of the noble, dignified, and honorable traditions and customs of the Khmer people. Simultaneously, it aims to encourage the participation of all parties in promoting, preserving, and widely disseminating Cambodian culture. Furthermore, the Ministry encourages the general public and professionals in related fields, including beauticians, fashion designers, content creators, and those in similar professions, who are interested in this area to register for the workshop. Registration will be accepted until 6:00 PM on September 30, 2026. The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts expressed its gratitude to all citizens who love and participate in preserving and protecting Khmer cultural heritage, and called for continued efforts to promote and disseminate the national cultural identity widely.
