Cambodian Ruling Party Announces Nearly 3,000 New Members in Phnom Penh District

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) announced the induction of nearly 3,000 new members in Phnom Penh's Prek Phnov district. These new members, numbering approximately 3,000, hail from all five sub-districts within the district. The official announcement ceremony took place on the morning of July 26th, presided over by Mr. Khuon Sreng, a member of the CPP Central Committee, Chairman of the Phnom Penh Municipal CPP Committee, and head of the working group for Prek Phnov district. During the event, Mr. Khuon Sreng highlighted the heroic deeds of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the party leader, who he stated sacrificed everything to liberate the nation and its people from death and to rebuild the country from scratch to its current state of development. He also reiterated the vision of Cambodia becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. Mr. Khuon Sreng further stated that the CPP has always been at the forefront of protecting citizens' lives. He cited the COVID-19 pandemic as a prime example, where the government, led by the CPP, actively sought vaccines for the populace, successfully curbing the spread of the virus and placing Cambodia second globally in its response. He emphasized that CPP leadership stands with the people through thick and thin, a commitment that led to their landslide victory in the 2023 elections. Addressing the new members, Mr. Khuon Sreng remarked, "Your decision today is the right one, as you have witnessed the great care and immense sacrifices of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the President of the Cambodian People's Party, in the cause of seeking peace and national development." He urged each new member to become a vote for the CPP in the upcoming elections of 2027 and 2028, to further contribute to the nation's prosperity. Mr. Them Sam An, Chairman of the Prek Phnov District CPP Committee, also reported on the implementation of citizen services through the one-stop service mechanism, security and order maintenance, and infrastructure development within the district, which has earned the trust of the people.
