Autopsy Results: Former Police Wife in Medan Died from Single Gunshot Wound to Head

The autopsy results for L, the former wife of police officer Bripka IH, who was found dead from a gunshot wound at her home in the Bumi Asri Complex, Medan City, North Sumatra, indicate the absence of any signs of violence or assault on the victim's body. Medan City Police Chief Kombes Pol Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak stated that these findings are based on the examination by forensic doctors who conducted the autopsy at RS Bhayangkara Medan. "From the experts' statements, first, the forensic doctor who performed the autopsy, there were no traces of violence or any signs of blunt or sharp objects injuring the victim," he said on Wednesday (5/8). He mentioned that the forensic examination results strengthen the suspicion that the victim died by suicide. This conclusion is also supported by the testimonies of two witnesses present at the scene during the incident: the victim's ex-husband, Bripka IH, and their child. The autopsy results show that there was a single gunshot wound to the head of the former police officer's wife. "There was only one gunshot wound to her head, consistent with suicide as I explained. This is also confirmed by two witnesses, IH and the victim's child," he explained. Previously, Head of Public Relations for the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol Ferry Walintukan, stated that the incident occurred on Sunday (2/8) around 4:00 PM Western Indonesian Time. At that time, the victim was resting at home with her husband and child in the Bumi Asri Medan housing complex. "So on Sunday afternoon, they were resting at home. Her husband (the police officer) and their child were also there," he said. While resting, Kombes Pol Ferry added, Bripka IH became suspicious when he found his bag open. Upon checking, he discovered that the firearm inside the bag was missing. "So, suddenly while they were resting, her husband's gun that was in the bag was gone. The gun was kept in the bag. Suddenly, he saw the bag was open and wondered who had taken the gun." Bripka IH later realized that his wife had taken the firearm. He then heard a gunshot from the bathroom. Subsequently, Bripka IH broke down the bathroom door. Upon inspection, L was found to be deceased. "It was then discovered that the one who took (the gun) was his wife. And his wife was in the bathroom at that time. Then he asked, and suddenly a gunshot was heard from inside the bathroom," he stated.
