Prabowo, Gibran Attend 25th Anniversary of Democratic Party

President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming attended the 25th anniversary of the Democratic Party (Partai Demokrat) held at the GBK Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday night (9/9). Prabowo entered the venue accompanied by the Chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party and the sixth President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), along with his son and current Democratic Party Chairman, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). Several key figures from the ruling coalition parties were also present. Representatives from PKB included Secretary General Hasanuddin Wahid, Deputy Chairman Jaziluk Fawaid, and DPP Chairman Faisol Riza. Gerindra was represented by Secretary of the Honorary Council Ahmad Muzani, PKS by Secretary General Muhammad Kholid, and PDIP by figures such as Puan Maharani, Faction Chairman Utut Adianto, and Faction Secretary Dolfie OFP. However, representatives from the Golkar, NasDem, and PAN parties were not seen at the event. Several leaders of non-parliamentary parties also attended, including PPP Chairman Muhammad Mardiono and Gelora Party Chairman Anis Matta. Earlier, AHY, in his political speech commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Democratic Party, reminded party cadres not to become complacent with power. He stated that positions have time limits and must be fully utilized to serve the community. This statement was made while highlighting the political dynamics and the Democratic Party's position within the government circle of President Prabowo Subianto. AHY urged all cadres, whether in the executive, legislative, or regional government, to remain sensitive and honest about the realities felt by the people on the ground. "We must learn from the 10 years of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's administration, including the peaceful and democratic transfer of power after two terms. Power is not someone's property forever. Power is a mandate from the people that has a time limit," AHY said during his speech at the Democratic Party's Central Executive Board office on Saturday (5/9). He emphasized that the party's presence in government is not just to celebrate victories or chase positions, but to oversee strategic programs that will directly impact public welfare. "Policies that are truly good for the people must be supported and overseen by us. What is not yet perfect, we must help improve. And we must remain honest about the realities felt by the people. Because what we are fighting for is not merely the success of one party. What we are fighting for is the success of Indonesia," he asserted.
