PNP Boosts Police Visibility for 'Ber' Months
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered increased police visibility in areas expected to see larger crowds during the 'ber' months, a period leading up to the holiday season. Patrols in commercial establishments and transport terminals are to be intensified.
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered increased police visibility in areas expected to draw larger crowds as the country enters the “ber” months. According to PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., regional and city police offices are directed to strengthen police visibility, patrols and monitoring in commercial establishments, transport terminals, and public places. The measure aims to protect the public from crimes, particularly property crimes such as theft and robbery, which tend to increase during the latter part of the year. The “ber” months are the busiest period in the Philippines, with many people shopping and traveling to visit family and friends. Source: Inquirer NewsInfo
