Cambodia Holds Border Affairs Dissemination Seminar to Strengthen Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty
Cambodia hosted a dissemination seminar on 'Border Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia' in Ratanakiri Province. The Minister in charge of the Border Affairs Secretariat presided, sharing insights on international law, historical context, and territorial integrity strategies. Cambodia held a dissemination seminar on 'Border Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia' on the morning of Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Ratanakiri Provincial Hall. The seminar was presided over by H.E. Lam Chea, Minister in charge of the Border Affairs Secretariat. Attendees included H.E. Nhab Bunheng, Chairman of the Ratanakiri Provincial Council; H.E. Nhem Samoeun, Governor of Ratanakiri Province; representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of National Defense; local authorities; armed forces; youth; and many students. Following a welcoming address by H.E. Nhem Samoeun, H.E. Lam Chea delivered a keynote speech officially opening the seminar and elaborating on 'Border Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia' for all participants. The primary objective of this seminar is to ensure that leaders, officials, local authorities, armed forces at all levels, and all participants gain a clearer, deeper, and more comprehensive understanding of international law, technical aspects of border affairs, historical territorial perspectives, and strategies for defending the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This aims to collectively prevent and neutralize any false information, incitement, or distortion of facts by a small number of extremist elements, and to resolutely protect the territorial integrity and national sovereignty. H.E. the Minister highlighted that border affairs are of paramount importance and are vital to the nation's life. He noted that under the wise and highly intelligent leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister, the government has shown firm resolve in building border lines and erecting border markers with neighboring countries, ensuring they are strong, clear, and permanent for future generations of Khmer people. In line with the 'Pentagon Strategy Phase 1' of the 7th mandate government, under the high leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the government continues to preserve and protect these historical achievements related to border affairs.
