Cambodia Holds Border Affairs Seminar in Ratanakiri to Strengthen Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity
Cambodia held a seminar on border affairs in Ratanakiri province, presided over by Minister attached to the Secretary of State of Border Affairs, Lam Chey. The event focused on international law, historical context, and territorial integrity strategies, emphasizing the need to counter disinformation and incitement to protect national sovereignty.
On July 16th, Cambodia hosted a seminar on "Border Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia" in Ratanakiri province. The event was presided over by Lam Chey, Minister attached to the Secretary of State of Border Affairs, and attended by 321 participants, including the Provincial Council Chairman, Provincial Governor, representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of National Defence, local authorities, military personnel, youth, and students. The seminar's primary objective was to enhance the understanding of leaders, officials, local authorities, armed forces at all levels, and all participants regarding international law, border affairs techniques, historical territorial aspects, and territorial integrity strategies of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This aims to counter false information, incitement, or distortion of facts by certain extremist groups and to resolutely protect the nation's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Minister Lam Chey emphasized that border affairs are of utmost importance to the nation and are vital to its survival. He noted that under the wise leadership of former Prime Minister Hun Sen, the government had made a firm commitment to establishing strong and clear border lines with neighboring countries, leaving a legacy for all future generations of Cambodians. Following the "Pentagon Strategy - Phase 1" under the current government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, the historical achievements related to border affairs are being continued and protected. The government is giving the highest attention and adhering to the spirit of responsibility to realize the vision of building a complete, clear, and stable border line that fosters friendship, peace, stability, cooperation, and development. This seminar is part of Cambodia's ongoing efforts to ensure border security and territorial integrity.
