The signing ceremony took place in Beijing, where Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Dith Tina and H.E. Ms. Sun Meijun, Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), inked the key bilateral documents. The two newly signed agreements include: 1. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in crop and livestock quarantine, as well as the safe import and export of food products. 2. A Protocol on phytosanitary requirements for exporting fresh jackfruits from Cambodia to China. This milestone represents another major achievement in the Royal Government of Cambodia’s proactive efforts to negotiate international market access and build global confidence in the quality of Cambodian agricultural products. The Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) protocol outlines strict technical guidelines governing the entire supply chain, including cultivation, harvesting, cleaning, processing, packaging, and transportation. These measures aim to ensure that all exported jackfruits are free from chemical residues, pests, and infectious diseases that could pose risks to human, animal, or plant health.
