Pailin Province Focuses on Combating Online Scams and Maintaining Security

Pailin Province, Cambodia – September 1, 2026 – A meeting of the Unified Command of the Pailin Provincial Administration was held today to review security work for August and assess progress in combating online scam crimes within the province. Dr. Ban Sreymom, Governor of Pailin Province and head of the Unified Command, stated that the prevention of online scam activities is a top priority and a crucial task for all levels of authorities and law enforcement agencies. This effort aligns with the directives of the Royal Government of Cambodia, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, emphasizing the need for high attention and responsibility in effectively addressing this issue. Governor Ban Sreymom further emphasized the ongoing campaign to prevent and crack down on various crimes, particularly technology-based offenses like online scams. The objective is to strengthen the implementation of social security, order, and public discipline across the nation, in line with the government's necessary measures. This includes paying close attention to security management in concentrated residential areas and inspecting the residency of foreigners and casino locations to prevent illegal entry and curb criminal activities, especially online scams, effectively. During the meeting, Dr. Ban Sreymom also praised and highly valued the efforts of the Provincial Unified Command and local authorities for their diligent and responsible work, which has yielded positive results. This includes enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery to citizens with equity, justice, and transparency, and addressing issues and requests from the populace, in accordance with the government's "Safe Village-Commune" policy.
