The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training continued to organize the "Employment, Social Security, and Vocational Training Forum" at the Stueng Trang District Hall in Kampong Cham Province on the morning of July 24, 2026. This event brought 3,780 domestic job opportunities from major enterprises, companies, and factories to citizens, former migrant workers returning from Thailand, and nearly 500 youths. The forum was organized with the aim of further expanding domestic employment opportunities, enhancing understanding of social security, and disseminating vocational training programs. Local authorities, relevant ministries, agencies, enterprise representatives, and many from the private sector participated. On this occasion, His Excellency Katta On, Secretary of State, representing His Excellency Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, met and interacted with citizens, former migrant workers, and youth who participated in the forum under the theme "Khmer Helps Find Jobs and Provides Jobs for Khmer." His Excellency urged citizens, especially youth and former migrant workers, to seize domestic employment opportunities, as enterprises, companies, factories, and special economic zones across the country currently have a labor demand of over 90,000 positions. His Excellency the Secretary of State emphasized that working legally within the country not only provides a stable income but also ensures protection under the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) regime, including the occupational accident, health care, and pension schemes, which contribute to improving the welfare and guaranteeing social security for workers. Concurrently, His Excellency called on citizens to avoid illegal migration, which can lead to exploitation, labor rights violations, and a lack of legal protection and recourse. For those intending to work abroad, citizens must choose companies with legal licenses and verify information with competent authorities in advance. For additional information, citizens can contact Hotline 1297 for employment matching services and 1286 for information on NSSF services. Furthermore, His Excellency Katta On encouraged youth and citizens to participate in technical and vocational skills training through the "TVET 1.5 Million" program at the Kampong Cham Polytechnic Institute. This program offers free training, monthly stipends, and a variety of specializations aligned with labor market demands, including short-term skill enhancement courses to increase proficiency and expand opportunities for decent employment. It is reported that major enterprises, companies, and factories such as San Feng (Cambodia) Company Limited, CNX Lihor Baek (Cambodia) Company, Tacoh Agri, and Cheav Lida Agriculture participated in this employment forum, bringing 3,780 domestic job opportunities. Additionally, companies licensed for labor recruitment to Japan, including Excel Asia Human Resources and Minami (Cambodia) International Service Co., Ltd., provided information, employment matching services, and direct consultations to meet the needs of job seekers and current labor market demands.
