West Luzon Braces for Continued Monsoon Rains

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that scattered rains will continue in the western part of Luzon, particularly in the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan, due to the southwest monsoon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Lanao del Norte, Cavite, Batangas, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands. Other parts of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA stated that no low-pressure area is being monitored within the next 24 hours. This monsoon rainfall is a typical weather phenomenon during the rainy season in the Philippines. Concerns may arise regarding its impact on agricultural produce, infrastructure strain, and potential river flooding. A significant portion of the Philippine economy relies on agriculture, and adverse weather events can lead to fluctuations in food prices and supply chain disruptions.
