CPP Siem Reap Holds Meeting to Guide 2027 Commune Council Elections

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Siem Reap Provincial Branch held a meeting on the afternoon of July 30, 2026, to provide guidance and outline key messages for the upcoming 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council elections in 2027. The meeting, attended by 390 participants, took place at the CPP Siem Reap Provincial Headquarters and included leaders, deputy leaders, and representatives of the party's working groups dispatched to the 12 communes/sangkats within Siem Reap City. During this significant meeting, Mr. Noun Phuthara, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Siem Reap City Party Committee, presented the city party's overall plan for the 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council elections in 2027. Concurrently, guidance was disseminated on the code of ethics for working groups and party committees to ensure efficiency, transparency, and public support in selecting and organizing candidate lists. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kuch Lina, Vice Chairman of the CPP Siem Reap Provincial Party and Head of the Provincial Party Organization Commission, strongly emphasized the role and responsibility of every party member in serving the people. He also outlined the seven key points of the agenda for dissemination, forming the foundation for the 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council elections in 2027. Mr. Lina underscored the unwavering commitment of HE Techo Hun Sen, President of the CPP, and the party's senior leadership to absolutely defend the nation's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Mr. Kuch Lina highlighted the importance of local development, urging all leaders and working groups in the communes/sangkats to actively participate in the efficient and transparent selection and organization of candidate lists. He placed particular emphasis on the party's youth members at the grassroots level, recognizing them as a strong core force that will continue to contribute with great energy as the inheritors for a better future. He also noted that CPP leaders at all levels, as well as the party's Commune/Sangkat council candidates, possess extensive practical experience in formulating and implementing various policies for governance, and have achieved numerous outstanding accomplishments. The continuation of this noble spirit and activities remains the commitment of all CPP leaders and members. He further urged all commune party committees to manage and expand their membership by recruiting new members and updating their existing lists. He also encouraged all party members to consistently engage with the grassroots, understand the difficulties faced by the people, and disseminate the achievements of the government to the nation, thereby building public confidence and ensuring the CPP's success in the upcoming elections.
