No More Delays for NSCR, Metro Manila Subway, Ejercito Assures

MANILA, Philippines — Senate finance committee chair Senator JV Ejercito on Thursday said he is ensuring there will be no more delays in the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and the Metro Manila Subway. Ejercito and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez inspected the NSCR’s West Valenzuela Station and its Operations Control Center. "We are ensuring that there will be no more delays in the NSCR and the subway project," Ejercito said in a statement. He added that he is working closely with Lopez to "fast-track" the projects and address any issues that may arise. The NSCR project, which is being funded by a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is expected to be completed by 2025. The Metro Manila Subway project, also a recipient of Japanese funding, is expected to be completed by 2027. Both projects are considered vital for the Philippines' economic growth and development, and the government is committed to ensuring their timely completion.
