Vice President Sara Duterte is the preferred presidential candidate for the May 2028 elections, according to the latest survey results released by Pulse Asia on Wednesday. The survey, conducted from June 28 to July 3 and 6, asked respondents who they would vote for if the presidency were contested by six possible candidates. Duterte garnered 49% of the votes, while former Vice President and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo received 26%, and Senator Raffy Tulfo got 14%. Duterte's support was strongest in the Visayas (53%), Mindanao (87%), and among those in Class E (59%). Meanwhile, 4% of respondents remain undecided, 4% are not inclined to support any candidate, and 1% refused to state their opinion. Duterte also emerged as the preferred presidential candidate in five alternative scenarios presented by Pulse Asia, involving two other names. The Vice President is currently facing an impeachment trial over allegations of misuse of confidential funds, unexplained wealth, bribery and graft, and grave threats against President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez. For the vice presidential race, Senator Bong Go was the preferred candidate with 27% if the elections were held during the survey period. Senator Robin Padilla followed with 21%, while Senator Bam Aquino and former Senator Grace Poe both received 14%. Senator Erwin Tulfo garnered 9%, Senator Francis Pangilinan 4%, and MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III 0.5%. Pulse Asia reported that 5% of Filipino adults expressed disinclination to elect any vice presidential bet, 3% were undecided, and 1% refused to identify their preferred candidate. The survey also indicated that 89% of Filipinos are interested in the May 2028 polls. A total of 2,400 adults were interviewed face-to-face for the survey. It has a ±2% error margin at the 95% confidence level. Subnational estimates for geographic areas have error margins of ±4% for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
