Prabowo Urges New Civil Servants to Serve Citizens in Need

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has strongly urged 1,204 newly appointed civil servants from the Institute of Domestic Governance (IPDN) to be present and assist citizens when they face difficulties. The President delivered this message during the inauguration ceremony for the XXXIII batch of young civil servants at the IPDN campus in Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java, on Wednesday (29/7). Prabowo reminded the new civil servants that their appointment marks the beginning of facing challenges from the nation and state. "All of you, my children, have chosen to be ready to sacrifice your lives and bodies for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Your lives are full of demands from the nation and state," he stated. "You must be civil servants who are present when the people are facing difficulties. You must be a beacon of hope, you must be a pillar of support and leadership for society," Prabowo added. He emphasized that being a civil servant is not merely a position but requires significant benefit to the community, serving, protecting, and sheltering the people. "Your honor as state apparatus is not measured by your position, but by how much benefit the community feels. You are servants of the people; you must serve, protect, and shelter the community," he said. President Prabowo also appreciated the civil servants who had previously gone directly to assist in disaster management in Aceh, citing it as an example of direct presence in the community. "You are the batch that has directly participated in assisting disaster management in Aceh for one month.
