Cambodia Initiates UNCLOS 'Compulsory Conciliation' in Maritime Dispute with Thailand

Cambodia has initiated the 'Compulsory Conciliation' mechanism under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) to resolve its maritime boundary dispute with Thailand. Prime Minister Hun Manet announced the official notification sent to Thailand and the UN Secretary-General. This marks the second instance of compulsory conciliation under UNCLOS, following the Timor-Leste and Australia case.
