Cambodian National Assembly President Visits Vietnam for Official Friendship Tour

The visit aims to deepen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.
Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sodary, leading a high-level parliamentary delegation, embarked on an official and friendship visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the evening of July 27, 2026. The three-day visit, from July 27 to July 29, 2026, is aimed at further strengthening and solidifying the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, encompassing both legislative and executive institutions, and particularly fostering people-to-people connections. The visit's core objectives include enhancing parliamentary diplomacy and promoting cooperation across all sectors, guided by the spirit of 'good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability.' Strengthening people-to-people ties is also a key focus. Accompanying President Khuon Sodary were several prominent figures, including Mr. Chheang Vun, Chairman of the National Assembly's Commission for Economy, Finance, Banking, and Auditing; Dr. Loay Sophath, Chairman of the Commission for Planning, Investment, Agriculture, Forestry, Fishery, Rural Development, Environment, Water Resources, and Meteorology; Mr. Kep Chutema, Chairman of the Commission for Interior, National Defense, Public Function, and Border Affairs; Mrs. Laok Kheng, Chairperson of the Commission for Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth, Labor, Vocational Training, and Women's Affairs; Mrs. Nin Saphan, Chairperson of the Commission for Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction; and Mr. Sos Muhsen, a member of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information. Also present were Mr. Leng Peng Long, Secretary General of the National Assembly; Dr. Keo Piseth, Director of the Cabinet of the President of the National Assembly; Mr. Khuon Davith, Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly; and Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Chief Advisor to the President of the National Assembly. During the visit, President Khuon Sodary is scheduled to hold discussions with leaders of Vietnam's legislative and executive bodies. The chairpersons of the National Assembly's specialized commissions are also expected to engage in working sessions with their Vietnamese counterparts to exchange experiences and share information.
