Preah Vihear Provincial Information Department Leads Team to Donate Bicycles and School Supplies to Needy Children in Kulen District
Ms. Hem Sokunpisei, Director of the Preah Vihear Provincial Department of Information, led a team to donate 7 bicycles and school supplies to underprivileged children in Kulen District, aiming to bridge educational disparities and boost learning motivation.
Preah Vihear, July 19, 2026 – Ms. Hem Sokunpisei, Director of the Preah Vihear Provincial Department of Information, along with Mr. Sun Kosal, Chief of Ta’Abong Commune in Kulen District, led a working group to deliver bicycles and school supplies to underprivileged children in Kulen District on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Ms. Hem Sokunpisei stated that in a spirit of care and concern for children who are at risk of dropping out due to hardship, she and Mr. Sun Kosal led the team to personally deliver bicycles and school supplies directly to the homes of the children in the Ta’Abong Commune, providing them with transportation and facilitating their studies. She further added that these visits and gifts, including bicycles, clothing, and school supplies, not only help alleviate the financial burden of parents and guardians facing difficulties but also serve as a significant source of encouragement for the children, strengthening their resolve to study hard. The donations included 7 bicycles and various school supplies. The Provincial Department of Information contributed 1 bicycle and some school supplies, Mr. Sun Kosal donated 6 bicycles, Mr. Sam Liangtry, Director of the Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, provided 7 backpacks, school supplies, and other necessities, and Mr. Pen Chhun, Governor of Kulen District, donated 100,000 Riel.
