Cambodia to Host International Conference on Combating Tech-Enabled Fraud

The Cambodian government is actively preparing to host an international conference aimed at bolstering efforts to combat fraud conducted through technological means. On September 7, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Council of Ministers, Vongsey Vissoth, presided over the 7th meeting of the organizing committee for the international conference on combating tech-enabled fraud at the Council of Ministers' office in Phnom Penh. The international conference is scheduled to take place in the capital city, Phnom Penh, from September 23 to 24, 2026. Themed "Together Towards Breaking the Chain and Ending Tech-Enabled Fraud," the event will gather participants from various countries and international organizations, both regionally and globally, with the objective of strengthening international cooperation in the fight against digital scams. Deputy Prime Minister Vongsey Vissoth reviewed the progress of the preparations, with particular attention paid to the substantive content, dissemination and publicity, protocol, hospitality, and security aspects. Discussions also focused on solutions and responses to identified risks and challenges to ensure the conference proceeds smoothly and achieves its intended outcomes. Cambodia has been increasingly facing a rise in cybercrimes alongside its economic development. The nation is strengthening its commitment to collaborate with the international community to address this growing issue.
