Cambodia to Host International Conference on Combating Tech Scams

Cambodia is preparing to host an international conference focused on combating technology-enabled scams. The event is scheduled to take place in Phnom Penh from September 23-24, 2026, under the theme "Together Towards Breaking the Chain and Ending Technology Scams." The conference aims to gather participation from regional and global countries and international organizations. On September 7, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Cabinet Office, Vongsey Vissoth, who also chairs the organizing committee for the international conference, led the seventh preparatory meeting at the Cabinet Office. The meeting reviewed work progress and discussed remaining tasks, particularly concerning conference content, publicity, protocol, hospitality, and security. Discussions also addressed solutions and responses to various risks and challenges to ensure the international conference on combating technology scams in the Kingdom of Cambodia proceeds smoothly and achieves its intended successful outcomes. The organization of this international conference signifies Cambodia's commitment to addressing the rising trend of technology-enabled fraud and cybercrimes, demonstrating a firm stance in collaboration with the international community.
