Three Suspects Arrested for Motorcycle Robbery in Phnom Penh
Three suspects, including minors, have been arrested in Phnom Penh in connection with a motorcycle robbery. The suspects are also believed to be involved in drug use, and police are continuing their investigation.
PHNOM PENH – Three suspects, including minors, have been arrested by the Phnom Penh Municipal Police's Serious Crimes Department for their alleged involvement in a motorcycle robbery. The suspects are also suspected of drug use. The incident occurred on July 28 in the Oubak Kmorng commune, Sen Sok district, along Duong Gib road, where the perpetrators allegedly pushed the victim off their motorcycle and stole it. The arrested individuals are identified as: 1. Bun Thon Visal, male, 17 years old, Khmer, with no fixed occupation, suspected of drug use. 2. Ban Meng Hoar, male, 17 years old, Khmer, with no fixed occupation, suspected of drug use. 3. Sothearin Viroun, male, 16 years old, Khmer, unemployed, suspected of drug use. According to the Serious Crimes Department, the operation was conducted under the command of Major General Chuon Nara, Deputy Commissioner General and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Municipal Police. The investigation, led by Brigadier General Bun Satya, Deputy Commissioner in charge of criminal police affairs, and Colonel Eng Sophea, Chief of the Serious Crimes Department, resulted in the apprehension of the three suspects on August 3, six days after the crime. Authorities seized a white SUZUKI NEX motorcycle as evidence. The suspects and the seized evidence are currently undergoing legal procedures by the criminal investigation unit.
