Peace Process: NSPNC and PSLF/TNLA hold peace talks in Nay Pyi Taw

Peace talk between the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF/TNLA) was held at the Shwe San Eain Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on 19 July. The meeting was attended by NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing, and committee members, while the PSLF/TNLA delegation was led by Vice-Chairman (1) Tar Jok Jar. During the meeting, the NSPNC Chairman said that the talk aimed at discussing regional stability and development with the goal of achieving lasting peace. He added that the government will coordinate matters related to education, healthcare, and regional development for residents in the Ta'ang (Palaung) area. The PSLF/TNLA Vice-Chairman (1) expressed his appreciation for the invitation to participate in the peace talks without any restrictions. He noted that the current ceasefire had brought peace to the region and expressed hope that the meeting could produce constructive outcomes. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the peace process, the Haigen Agreement, implementation of the ceasefire agreement, solutions to the political crisis, and regional development. Afterwards, the NSPNC Secretary discussed the political requirements for advancing the peace process and elaborated on the implementation of peace initiatives, regional development, and the outcomes of previous discussions. Both sides then approved the record of discussion.
